An installation & Google Chrome extension exploring our Internet-fueled paranoia
Inspired by Internet-fueled cultural paranoia, I created an interactive gallery piece that questions truth in the social media age.
Gallery visitors are invited to sit down, log in to their Facebook account, and witness a total distortion of their newsfeed, messages, and even their own profiles. They see friends using hateful and disturbing rhetoric, and posting strange images. The browser window wobbles and glitches at random, violently streaking the screen with flashes of red. The CRT monitor produces a piercing high-pitched whine that fills the room.
